Registered Psychologist

Nicole Berggren, MC

Change and development are processes that occur over the lifespan. Our capacity to manage can be overwhelmed by what is going on around us and our internal state.

I will join you in considering the mechanism behind what is happening for you, integrating your experiences, and making meaning of your thoughts, behaviours, emotions, and sensations.

My Approach

My lens is heavily influenced by brain science and an understanding of development over the lifespan.

Becoming a parent is a transition that often comes with many stressors and complexities that may or may not be anticipated.

I am passionate about supporting people through the process of becoming a parent and parenting small children. Maternal and paternal mental health is essential to caregiving but is too often overlooked.

Through specialized training in parental mental health and my own experience of becoming a parent, I have reflected on how our experiences, past and present, influence how we show up in our families and our communities. I will support you by listening, being curious and reflecting on what you bring into this space. My approach is collaborative, pragmatic, and integrative.

I draw on cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and developmental neuroscience approaches to inform my practice.
